On Friday, October 29, 2021, special guest Tom Williams, Director for Nature Action and Water, The Food and Nature Program of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) joined us to discuss how recent UN Events have impacts for business and biodiversity.

Tom joined Colleen Corrigan, Senior Sustainability Advisor for Pure Strategies, to discuss the outcomes from The UN Biodiversity Conference, (COP15), and Business and Biodiversity Week, October 18-22. Tom and Colleen explored the interconnected crises of biodiversity loss and climate change, ecosystem degradation, and the current global efforts to achieve a future life in harmony with nature. They also shared insights about the relevance of these recent global meetings for business. What they covered:

• The significance and status of the UN discussions to conserve natural habitats and protect ecosystems by ensuring society, especially business, is involved 
• How businesses can develop goals to support the protection and restoration of biodiversity
