Nature Action Forum

Pure Strategies’ Nature Action Forum for Business

Nature matters to all businesses.

A new Global Biodiversity Framework for nature was established at the end of 2022. Business-specific targets were included in the framework for the first time.

What does this mean for business?

Growing expectations to monitor, assess, and disclose biodiversity impacts . It also means businesses have the opportunity to support new global goals of:

  • Protect 30% of Earth’s lands, oceans, coastal areas, inland water by 2030
  • Reduce to near zero the loss of areas of high biodiversity importance and high ecological integrity
  • And other ways to support our forests, freshwater, oceans, land, and biodiversity

Over half the world’s total GDP – US$44 trillion – is moderately or highly dependent on nature and its services. A nature-positive transition could create US$10 trillion in business opportunity and create 395 million jobs by 2030.

This Forum can help your business take its next steps on nature.

Join us in 2024 at the Nature Action Forum for Business. This limited-size cohort of peers in corporate sustainability will meet monthly to learn about critical topics, discuss challenges, and progress their nature programs. Other experts and thought leaders will be contributing to the Forum.

Participation in the forum will help you:

  • Gain clarity and help you stay up to date on latest developments
  • Understand your company’s level of readiness for a nature strategy
  • Build knowledge to develop and advance a corporate strategy on nature
  • Create an action plan to advance a nature strategy, suited for your company

This will be done through:

  • Curated monthly discussions (90-minute sessions)
  • Active learning and skill building
  • Practical tools and information for all levels of readiness
  • Peer networking opportunities

Monthly discussions will be virtual and will cover topics such as nature assessment approaches, data source, target setting process, and disclosure frameworks (e.g., Science-Based Targets Network, the Task Force for Nature-related Disclosures, and others).

“We know that climate change is driving significant risks to our value chains, communities, and nature around the world — more and more, we need to align our goals and actions to address things like biodiversity loss, but it can be difficult to know how to properly measure and make progress around a broad, but critical, focus area. Working with the Pure Strategies Nature Action Forum has been an invaluable experience, offering a place to learn from experts, share challenges and successes across practitioners in various industries, and be educated on tools and best practices for addressing nature-related impacts and influence change in your organization.

I am coming away with a deeper understanding and renewed energy to properly measure, create goals, and take meaningful action for nature-related impacts.”

“The Pure Strategies Nature Action Forum clarified the business case, frameworks, and nature metrics and introduced me to some of the tools we will take forward in
our assessments. We also valued the opportunities the Forum provided to share insights, validate common challenges, and leave me with food for thought, based
on others’ experiences.”
