Web Design and Management

Pure Strategies intentionally looked for ways to ensure that sustainability was designed into our website. This means that when we created the site and continue to manage it with our website partner, Mangrove Web, we look for ways to ensure accessibility and minimize energy use. We know that we can do more and expect to improve our approach over time. Example actions taken to minimize energy use:

• Selective use of images and longer content. 
• Applying manual scrolling. 
• Avoiding auto-run  animations and videos.
• Using the most up-to-date, performance-focused technology to reduce overall page load.
• Optimizing the site architecture to make key content faster and easier for visitors to find.
• Limited the use of full-width banner images to balance visual impact with faster load times and lower energy use.
• Designing on a WordPress setup that automatically optimizes image sizes by generating smaller versions – reducing load time and using less energy.
