Take climate action
From corporate carbon inventory to decarbonization planning, we help companies to set science-based targets, assess climate risks, and develop climate projects.
Climate strategies
The urgent need to limit climate warming and effectively manage climate risks is driving regulatory and investor expectations and the need for companies to act now. Pure Strategies works with companies to measure and interpret climate risk and carbon footprint data and develop strategic initiatives to gain business benefits.
Identify climate risks and hotspots, build internal alignment, set targets and roadmaps, and implement effective climate-smart initiatives.
Our team completes corporate carbon inventories and product carbon footprints, and Pure Strategies partners with software providers to help clients use technology to support their climate strategies. Pure Strategies also offers Pure Supply™, a platform to support efficient and effective supplier engagement on climate programs.
We help integrate climate risk and emissions management into the core of the business through strategic services, finding processes and opportunities to generate business value.
Common projects include:
- Climate risk assessments and disclosure recommendations
- Strategic integration of climate risk and management
- Corporate carbon inventories and management plans

FAQs
Companies build a GHG inventory by defining organizational and operational boundaries and collecting data to estimate emissions. Pure Strategies helps clients define boundaries and scope, map the value chain, and design data collection workflows and supplier engagement to obtain primary data. We select the best available emission factors, build calculation models aligned with the GHG Protocol, and prepare inventories for assurance, including forestry, land, and agriculture (FLAG) breakouts. Pure Strategies also works with leading carbon software platforms, such as PlanetFWD, Watershed, and HowGood Latis.
Pure Strategies helps clients establish science-based targets by modeling reduction scenarios and capital and operating expense needs, defining Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) aligned targets and preparing validation packages, and designing implementation roadmaps—including supplier programs, renewable electricity strategies, product footprints, and life cycle assessments (LCAs), and dashboards. The company works with the executive team to develop governance to ensure accountability, integration into workplans and budgets, annual planning, and progress reporting.
These external standards are cited in state and global regulations to help a company identify how a company is managing the impacts and opportunities from climate change and the transition to a low-carbon economy. This is done by reviewing the company’s governance, climate risk assessment results, and strategy and management approaches connected to climate risks. For the climate risk assessment, companies evaluate physical risks connected to climate change, such as weather, temperature, and precipitation impacts. This takes a close look at both the climate hazard and the level of exposure for business sites. The assessment also considers changes expected in a transition to a low-carbon future, such as market, policy, technology, and reputation impacts and opportunities. Pure Strategies has completed climate risk assessments and the full TCFD/IFRS-aligned review and disclosure (e.g., for SB261/219). We complete this work in a way that companies gain business value, including strengthening strategic risk planning, revealing future challenges and opportunities, and improving resilience and capital access.
Pure Strategies helps our clients drive supply-chain climate progress and Scope 3 decarbonization by mapping and quantifying value chain emissions, prioritizing categories, and working with implementation partners. We design and execute roadmaps, procurement policies, supplier programs, data workflows, and category strategies (product redesign, logistics efficiency, renewables, low carbon materials). Pure Strategies helps build a program portfolio that includes supplier engagement, ground-level projects, and operational efforts. This work delivers measurable reductions in GHG emissions, greater resilience, and competitive advantage.
